Kazuya Kinoshita is devastated after his girlfriend, Mami Nanami, leaves him after dating for a month. He then decides to use an online application in which he rents a girlfriend named Chizuru Mizuhara, a beautiful and attractive girl. However, because she appears to be too perfect, he writes her a bad review, whereupon Chizuru scolds him and reveals that she possesses a worse personality than he expected.
However, when Kazuya’s grandmother collapses in the hospital, he takes her with him and his grandmother falls in love with how great she is. Kazuya continues to rent Chizuru to keep up appearances with his family and friends, but things get complicated when they discover that they are neighbors in the apartments where they live and also attend the same university.
